Bryce Janey takes a more formulaic approach to his blues. His tone doesn’t vary much from track to track but there is something to be said for his pure Stratocaster blast. This Janey is more of rocker than dad, and where the old man ventures toward a funkier/jazz hybrid, the son keeps his work louder and slightly harder-toned.

These guys are both very talented players with a full slate of original tracks to be proud of. Unfortunately, artists that are this independent are hard to see live unless you visit their home zone. Each disk is recommended, depending on how you like your blues served up. - JM
